About Us
Michele Salinas, MSOM, LAc, Dipl. OM, RN
I have been a healthcare professional for over 17 years. I obtained my Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in 1998 and have practiced Oriental Medicine ever since.
I am licensed by the state of North Carolina to practice acupuncture, a member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine, and have National Diplomacy in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. I am also the local representative of the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCAAOM).
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I was a Registered Nurse, working in diverse areas such as farm worker camps, public health clinics, and psychiatric health centers, including an addictions center.
My love and passion has always been in qualitative health, the art of healing, and education as well as compassion. I see our whole interactions within ourselves, each other and the natural world as the basis of all disease and discontent. My aim is to help those interactions become healthier ones. In short I aim to create peace through health care.
Blake Faulkner, LAc, Dipl. OM
I have been working with Michele at the Lotus Center since 2005. In May 2008, I graduated from the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. I obtained the L.Ac. and Dipl. OM certifications in June of the same year.
I use Classical Chinese Medicine in my practice, which maintains more of a Daoist influence than standardized Traditional Chinese Medicine. Classical Chinese Medicine continues to use ancient meridian systems that are no longer common in TCM practices. The "tools in my toolbelt" include acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, herbal medicine, and gua sha.
My current interests are herbal medicine and sports medicine, and my interest is growing into many more fields.
